It’s been a big week for the installation of lovely new toys for Nutshell. Magnus makes good parts of the old auto pilot and installs the new one and he gets the radar up and running. Nutshell is getting more modern by the day.

We finally arrive back at our beloved Nutshell. Fortunately she is in pretty good shape and the clove oil seemed to have kept most of the mould at bay.

We camp the night in the Eyre River bed and then make our way out of the Simpson Desert to Birdsville, the remote outback town that sits at the edge of the Simpson Desert.
We wind our way towards the coast and take in some old homestead ruins along the way.

We check out Chambers Pillar, a stunning rock formation at the end of a four wheel drive track. It’s definitely worth the hours and hours of driving to get there.

We continue our journey on bumpy, deserted roads, in the deserts of the Australian Outback. We re-water and re-fuel by the side of the road.
The scenery is absolutely stunning in this part of the world and Mavi gets a good workout!
